WE HAVE FOUND OUR HOME - IF WE CAN AFFORD IT

San Miguel de Allende will be our new home - that is if we can afford San Miguel and I think we can.  There is no way you can research out all the places and understand the feel of the town.  You have to visit.  Mexico is all about feeling, sights and sounds, it simply cannot be expressed in words, it is about feeling.

We only had enough money to spend on hotels and food for two days,  however we have now traveled and lived in enough places in Mexico to know what we are looking for and what we now need from the town.

The reason why we have moved from place to place is so that I could see Ken in the town as see if his needs and wants from the community could be a right mix for him.  Then of course I want to consider myself into the equation.  I need things from the community and town as wells as Ken.  This moving and testing out towns has been expensive but there really is no other way to find out the things I need to know before I set up roots.

San Maguel is not the prettiest looking place that we have been.  Patzcuaro is by far the prettiest, and then Chapala.  Of course not considering the resorts.  Patzcuaro with the tree lined streets and the mountain setting with the lake is really beautiful.  Ajijic with the beach and small artist community is lovely.  But San Maguel - there is a sensation you get when you are in the town.  The vibrations that come from sights and sounds of the city and wonderful.  Relaxing and kicked back - yet exciting and electrifying at the same time.  There is this feeling of put on sandals and a tie-died skirt then  go dance the tango type of feeling.  It is casual yet can be very fancy.

San Miguel is dominated by this church.  It is beautiful and very unusual for Mexico.  The church is pink and it is called the Church of St. Michael the Archangel and the design is pseudo-Gothic. There are more pictures that I put into a movie about the church.

In the plaza next to the church they have dancing every weekend.  The dancers are any person that wishes to join in and the public sits and watches the people dance.  When we were they they preformed the Tango as well as some other waltz - bop and just about everything you can think of.
Here are two links for watching the dancing in the plaza. http://youtu.be/xpMKIzt7aI4

San Miguel is known for its artist, the studios, and the art schools.  In side one of the art institutes there are retail stores and art class rooms.

This was the hotel that we stayed at

.
Looking forward to moving as soon as possible.  Until then
Ken  and

Donna  - wish you adventures in your lives.
