The plan for today was to drive into Costco in Morelia. Park the car and get a cap to take us to a real estate company to see about their rentals.
For first time readers I will explain that my plans never turn out as intended. For the rest of you, you know things went in the bucket.
Here is what occurred. When I got close to the city limits, traffic was getting bogged down. Then I saw a bunch of cars coming down the freeway the wrong way. Then cars in front of me started to turn around and drive the wrong way down to where I was.
I thought it best to get off the road while I could. Ken took all the maps out of the car and into the house list night so when I needed to look for a different route into Morelia, there was no clues to follow. So I drove and drove. Came upon this fir tree wooded area with housing well into the million dollar area - even in Mexico. I also noticed a restaurant there. Might as well stop and get directions. I find someone there who spoke English. Got directions, followed them and went around the trouble.
Did find Costco and parked the car (just as planed with exception of the road barrier). Sticking to the plan I found a cab take us to the Realtor's office = gave the man the address and I was determined to see some rentals today.
I have to ask this question. How does a person find a cab driver who does not know how to read a map or his way around town. Personally, I have no idea how difficult that task would be for a person, however, I pulled it off without any difficulty at all.
The cab driver did not know how to read a map. I told him he was on the wrong street. I got out of the car four times to check addresses on buildings, I got two people to come over and give him direction. I read his map book and the was not even close to where we should be. After 3 hours of driving around and asking other people here this address was, two people coming over to the car and telling again where things were, I told him to take us back to my car.
When we get to our car I pay him 1/2 of what we agreed upon before the sight-seeing tour began. He wanted even more than agreed upon because of HIS time. I took back the money I gave him. He called the cops. I told the cops that I hired him to do something and he did not do it. Why would I pay him to waste my time and not to preform the service I hired him to do? OH, logic, what a concept. So again I paid him 1/2 of what we agreed upon and the cop thought that was fair. Then I paid the cop the rest of the money. OH MEXICO, without corruption, and drug barricades,
what would you be? Cop was happy, I was alright with it, the cap driver got another customer and he left.
While at Costco, I would not pass up the hot dog so we got in line to order food. There was this girl there that I got to talking with and she had a Realtor that got her a rental and gave me his contact number.
Got back onto the road to go home and it was still blocked. So I got in a line of cars waiting for the road to open, turned off my gas, and took a nap. Soon the road opened and we drove home.
