Ajijic is full of restaurants and many of them carry five star menus with the Chief's name by his signature dishes.
Here are some dishes that I have eaten and if you think that I can spell or pronounce the names of the dishes you will be very disappointed.

This restaurant is the biggest place I have ever seen. It must have seating for 3,000 people. This location is on the road to Guadalajara. The only dish that is served is shown in the picture. Let me explain what it is and how to eat it.
A empty bowl is set in front of you and a plate of onions with limes. Then the plate of meat and beans hard shell tortillas and soft tortillas. Then the someone comes with a plastic picture full of this broth and they pour the broth into the bowl.
It is kind of up to you how you want to eat this. Most people put the meat and the beans in the tortilla and eat that while sipping on the broth. However Ken and I mix the whole thing together and eat it like a soup. P.S. do not even try their hot salsa and the hot sauce will kill you dead because you cannot breath after you taste it.
The meat is goat. It is cooked for a very long time and the broth is made with the juices from the goat. After the goat is cooked they put it under another like grill that browns the meat. Absolutely disbelievingly tender. The beans - have not a clue what they do with those but they are different than any I have ever had. They will refill you bowl with broth as you need it. The meal for two people is about 30.00 USD.

Now this baby is the best thing that our creator ever allowed man to produce. The outside bean is used and filled with this wonderful ice cream and then frozen. (You will make noise as you eat this - it is soooooo good)
This is the Cacao bean. Inside are the seeds used to make this wonderful chocolate. Oaxaca is world known for this chocolate.

This is downtown Ajijic and is a "gringo" hamburger joint from the 60's with root-beer floats and all.

This is actually a sandwich and very good. they are called torta's

|
Now this little dish could be shared by three people - although I almost finished off one by myself cause it was so good. I have no idea what it is called.

This is called a Scorpion fish and I hear that they are the best tasting fish - far above any other kind of fish. I have not tried this cause you have to order the whole fish.

Now this is to go to heaven with....fried eggplant with honey/rosemary sauce and cheese. I can taste this right now just looking at the picture.
Most of the restaurants are outside eating and even if you are under a roof, the structure is open aired. Here are some pictures
Well all this has made me hungry so we are going to dinner and to watch the sun set.

Hi Donna, Your life in Mexico looks like it's going very well. You made me hungry! So good to see pics of both of you. Busy here, what's new? We now work in the temple every Tuesday 4-9:30. Bob is busy w/Sept deadlines for corporate returns. Then will be busy until 10/15 when personal extensions are due. Just had a houseful for 10 days w/Barb, her husband and 3 precious boys here. Fun. Still working at WS. My mom is doing fine, was 87 in May. Your life looks easy and uncomplicated. Love to both of you.
